The full program for the 17th Edwaldo Camargo Symposium and the 1st CancerThera Congress, events taking place simultaneously on April 19 and 20, 2024, at the Royal Palm Tower Anhanguera hotel in Campinas (SP), is now available. More than 70 invited speakers will participate, including professionals from various states in Brazil and countries such as South Africa, Uruguay, Chile, the United States, France, and Poland. This edition of the Edwaldo Camargo Symposium will take a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of Nuclear Medicine in high-incidence neoplasms and their impact on global public health, such as breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers. Meanwhile, the CancerThera Congress will focus on theranostic applications in Oncology and Onco-Hematology, covering Basic Research, Preclinical Research, and Clinical Research in prostate, skin, colorectal, hematological, and neuroendocrine neoplasms, among others.
Both events will feature multidisciplinary sessions to foster interaction among various fields with the goal of improving patient management. Special sessions will be dedicated to discussions on Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Radiopharmacy, Imaging, as well as Preclinical and Clinical studies.
The events are organized by Grupo MND (Nuclear Medicine, Diagnosis, and Therapy), IEPEC (Professor Edwaldo Camargo Teaching and Research Institute), and Unicamp (University of Campinas), with support from the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development), SBBN (Brazilian Society of Nuclear Biosciences), and SBMN (Brazilian Society of Nuclear Medicine).
Scientific Paper Presentation
Those interested in presenting their research at the event may submit abstracts until February 15, 2024. The abstracts approved by the review committee will be presented orally, and the selection results will be announced on February 28. The research must focus on the following topics:
- Clinical Oncology
- Preclinical Oncology
- Clinical Radiopharmacy
- Preclinical Radiopharmacy
- Radiochemistry
- Medical Physics
