The Cepid Cancerthera – Cancer Therapeutic Innovation Center participated, on September 16, 2026, in the Campinas Innovation Week (CIW), an event that brought together universities, research centers, companies, startups, investors, entrepreneurs and representatives of the public power around initiatives aimed at science, technology and innovation.
Held at the Clock Building, in the Railway of Campinas (SP), the event provided an environment of connection between different actors in the innovation ecosystem.
The participation of CancerThera was part of the programming of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and made it possible to present to the public the performance of the project and the therapeutic approach in cancer, which integrates diagnostic and treatment strategies.
During the event, research and patents developed by CancerThera were also presented, highlighting the potential of scientific research to generate solutions with application perspectives in the health area.
For postdoctoral researcher Roberta Steganha, who represented CancerThera at the event, participation was an opportunity to strengthen the approximation between different areas and sectors. “It served to reinforce the connection between science, research, innovation and practical application, expanding the dialogue and the possibilities of collaboration”, she highlighted.
Research, innovation and new connections
With its multidisciplinary character, Campinas Innovation Week favored contact with different audiences and perspectives, creating opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and for the construction of new connections between academia, companies and other members of the innovation ecosystem.
For postdoctoral researcher Maria Elvira Pizzigatti Correa, executive manager of projects at CancerThera, participation also contributed to bringing research developed with opportunities related to innovation and technology transfer. “CancerThera reinforced its commitment to a multidisciplinary, translational and connected research to the challenges of health, bringing together scientific knowledge and opportunities for innovation”, she listed.
Professor Luciana Campanatti Palhares, PhD, also represented CancerThera at the event and highlighted the importance of building connections, fostering new partnerships, and bringing science closer to the demands of the productive sector and society. “Events like this are highly valuable in helping knowledge generated at the university advance toward the development of new solutions for cancer diagnosis and treatment.”
