At CancerThera, in a translational manner, new uses will be developed for already established radiopharmaceuticals (Clinical Research) and we will create new radiopharmaceuticals (Basic and Pre-Clinical Research), adopting an approach that simultaneously combines diagnosis and treatment of various forms of cancer.
- WHAT IS CANCERTHERA?
Cancer is a significant global public health problem and is among the leading causes of death. Identifying new agents for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with tumors is highly desirable. For many centuries, metals have been used empirically to treat various diseases. Currently, metals and their compounds - stable or radioactive - are applied rationally in neoplasms. This is the area in which we operate.
About the RIDC
The "Center for Cancer Theranostic Innovation" will develop research, innovation, and knowledge dissemination activities for the creation of new drugs and metal-based radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. It will also study new uses for known radiopharmaceuticals, adopting an innovative model in the country, to become a world-class center for cancer research.
