One of the objectives of this area is to develop new chemotherapeutic products composed of bioactive substances associated with metals.

The preparation and characterization of new drug candidates based on non-radioactive metals, such as platinum and silver, aim to develop technologies for tumor treatment. This includes the synthesis and characterization of new molecules, mainly organic ones, as an initial step. Chemistry work at CancerThera is located at the Institute of Chemistry of Unicamp.
